Kadida Development Group (KDG) is a diversified real estate company active in commercial, hospitality and residential property investment, development, and management. Headquartered in Washington, DC, the firm maintains presence in Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina and with major projects in the Horn of Africa. As a boutique development firm, over the past 12 years, KDG has developed, acquired, or managed more than $500 million of real estate assets.
KDG, a Small Business Enterprise, has a keen approach for each project with sustainable building practices and innovative, contemporary design concepts. For 12 years we have been working to build a diverse portfolio and enduring relationships that make us all proud to say we are KDG.
We got our start as a financial firm turned a real estate development firm in 2009 and never lost our enthusiasm for tackling complex real estate issues. KDG is committed not to a single service, property type or location, but to mastering the process of building value in real estate and the communities we enter. We develop, we invest, we manage. We create commercial properties, hotel properties, multifamily properties, and retail properties. Often, we get the opportunity to combine all of these skills to create a new mixed-use environment.

FOUNDER & PRINCIPAL
Tom Kadida , Founder and Principal of Kadida Development Group, is a national leader in the investment, development, and management of high-quality mixed-use properties. As Principal, Tom has maintained oversight over all aspects of KDG including organizational structure, strategic planning, and company growth. Tom believes that the company’s commitment to its pillars of excellence, core values, evolving business strategies, and astute entrepreneurial spirit allows KDG to attract and retain the best affiliates and partners in the industry. As the leader, Tom deems KDG’s growth is dependent on organically cultivating talents within the company and providing attractive career growth potential to all team members. While pursuing a degree in Computer Science from George Mason University, Tom began his real estate career with Douglas-Michaels Company, LLC in 2001 ultimately becoming Financial Advisor in the company. In 2003, he became the Managing Partner at TT&S Financials, LLC, providing strategic leadership and direction for a mid-size independent and growing mortgage brokerage financial firm that provides various levels of financing. In 2010, Tom founded Kadida Development Group, a real estate development firm focused on acquiring, rehabilitating, developing, investing, and selling or leasing residential and commercial properties in Washington, DC, MD, and VA.
Under Tom’s leadership, KDG has grown from a single-family home flip to 100 plus unit and mixed-use development firm through strategic acquisitions to managing and operating over an estimated $327 million dollars of real estate assets throughout the United States. Today, KDG is scaling up to become a blue-chip development company, managing approximately 500 units regionally, and has a robust investment management with approximately $200 million in assets including $500 million of assets under development.
PRESIDENT & HEAD OF CONSTRUCTION
Terefe Kadida, President and Head of Construction of Kadida Development Group, is a clever mechanical engineer with a passion for advanced construction design. Terefe’s entry to the real estate industry is ignited by several personal renovation projects he undertook in the years prior to joining Tom at KDG. With an expertise in business management, Terefe’s ability to identify value-add development properties and acquisition makes Terefe a valuable member of the Executive team at KDG. Upon acquisition, Terefe’s strength in developing creative strategies to that ensures high-level return on investment guides development or re-development properties’ architectural designs.
As President and Head of Construction, Terefe oversees and directs KDG’s construction projects from conception to completion. He has comprehensive knowledge in reviewing projects in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costs. He also oversees all onsite and offsite constructions to monitor compliance with building and safety regulations. Through directing the collaboration of property management staff, general contractors, architects, and engineers, Terefe’s oversight and leadership ensure that KDG is both on time and within budget on new construction, development, and historic adaptive development projects. Terefe’s leadership on and off the field enables him to manage multiple projects, contractors, and personnel effectively. He is known and respected for his ability to ensure projects are constructed and documented in accordance with the contract documents and good engineering practices.
SENIOR CONSTRUCTION MANAGER
Mike Ibrahim, Senior Construction Manager of Kadida Development Group, has background and experiences that qualifies him to manage the development and construction for KDG projects and co-development and joint venture real estate opportunity.
Mike’s expertise spans over various aspect of the real estate industry including land acquisition, land rezoning, all dealings with local jurisdictions, selection of development team including architects, engineers, sales and marketing agencies, development budgets and project financial viability, development program & design development, risk management, contract negotiation with contractors, construction management and delivery of completed project to KDG’s end-users. Mike has managed over $3000 Million of real estate development in various metro Washington, DC jurisdictions.
Mike Ibrahim has many years of experience in construction, real estate development, business development and operations with an extensive background in startup companies. Mike’s proven track record in project management of construction projects such as multi-family, industrial plants, commercial and hotels has given him the skills and resources needed to succeed in real estate development. Mike graduated from West Virginia Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER
Mario has a wealth of knowledge gained in his 18 years in the accounting field. He has varied and extensive experience gained in high level accounting positions including as Controller and C.F.O. in companies ranging from start-ups to medium-sized companies with 10s of millions in revenue.
He performs a variety of financial analyses to measure the current and forecasted financial health of the company and present potential scenarios to the Executive Team. He oversees all of the company accounting functions and financial reporting requirements including developing budgets, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, cash flow management, payroll, general ledger, and auditing. Mario graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Maryland in College Park in 2000 and has numerous other certifications and skills including a Certificate in Innovation Management.

Leveraging our strategic partnership, KDG effectively executed a tailored and methodical approach to site selection, due diligence, underwriting, highest-and-best use, design, entitlements, and permit strategies right through to investor selection, bidding, and overall management of the project and construction process through the sale or management of the asset.
Our projects ranges from single-family homes to two unit condo buildings to large multi-family residences.
