TOM
From humble beginnings, Mr. Kadida was convinced that one doesn’t have to be great to start, but you can start to become great. Having called the DC Area home for the last 30+ years, Mr. Kadida studied computer science at George Mason University prior to founding KDG. To pay for his schooling and living expenses, Mr. Kadida worked full time in the real estate industry and that’s when he realized some years after graduation, real estate was his passion. He and his brother grew Kadida Development Group exponentially within a short span of 12 years, from a single home family flip and a two-man team, to 100+ unit mixed use developments and 20+ team members. Having had to learn everything in the development process on his own, and at times the hard way, Mr. Kadida brings the on the field roll-up your sleeves valued experience beginning at the initial stage of sourcing opportunities, to assessing, acquisitions, joint-venture structuring, planning, designing, constructing and the final stage of selling.
Mr. Kadida also devotes his time to the next generation of real estate visionaries, giving back to up-and-coming developers who have the same passion and eagerness to learn for real estate development as he did starting out. His desire to share the wisdom of his success and failure lead to mentoring and partnering up with local young developers.
TEREFE KADIDA
Nearly one decade ago, brothers Terefe and Tom Kadida established KDG. As the eldest sibling, Terefe brings an education in mechanical engineering and a passion for construction design to this ever-expanding real estate development company.
Terefe’s interest in this industry was sparked by several personal renovation projects he undertook in years past. Through overseeing these expansions on his residencies, he discovered a natural talent for building. This combined with a tenure in business management led him and Tom to create this joint, family venture.
Identifying and purchasing properties ideal for development is Terefe’s primary responsibility at KDG. Once the property is purchased, the two brothers work together to generate the creative strategy before briefing the architectural designer. Once plans have been finalized and all legal and permitting mandates have been met, Terefe and his construction team take over at which point he is responsible for all contracting work from beginning to end including inspections and of course, satisfying as well as exceeding the buyers expectation.
